Abstract


Cerpen “Malam ke­9999” karya Jusuf AN berkisah tentang seorang anak manusia yang sejak lahir dibuntuti oleh jin yang selalu menggodanya supaya menjauh dari Tuhan. Kajian terha­dap cerpen ini betujuan untuk mengetahui tema lokalitas yang terkandung di dalamnya. Lokalitas dalam karya sastra tidak hanya terbatas pada ihwal etnisitas dan lokasi geografi, melainkan juga hal-­hal lain terkait dengan kekhasan kelompok tertentu, seperti kepercayaan dan agama. Analisis dilakukan dengan metode hermeneutik (pemaknaan) secara induktif terhadap data yang telah di­urai dengan bantuan teori fiksi Stanton, yakni menjadi fakta ­fakta cerita yang terdiri atas karakter (tokoh), alur, dan latar. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan kesatuan unsur-­unsur tersebut mendukung tema lokalitas kehidupan religius dalam pesantren, khususnya mengacu pada kelompok Islam ber­aliran tasawuf.


Abstract:
Jusuf AN’s short story “Malam ke-­9999” tells about a man followed by satanic devil since his birth day. The devil intends to tempt him in order to separate him from his God. This study aims to uncover the locality theme of the story. Locality in literary works is not only limited to particular ethnicity and geographical location, but also including other typical matters of certain community, such as belief and religion. Analyzes were performed by using hermeneutics method (that of in­ interpretation) inductively to the data that have been parsed with the help of Stanton’s fiction theory, that is becoming story facts which consist of character, plot, and setting. The analysis result shows that the unity of those elements supports the theme of religious living in an Islamic boarding school, especially that of tasawuf community.
